Natural: Is the Earth a magnet?

Yesterday we saw two videos in relation to magnetism. I hope you liked them. Did you find objects for your lists. It is quite easy to understand why some objects can be attracted or not. It implies metals as well.

But what happens with the Earth. Is there any force that makes the Earth attracts? Can we consider the Earth a big magnet?

Before answering the question, let´s check our list from yesterday. Here you have some examples.

After that, listen to the story of Isaac Newton about Gravity, copy the title GRAVITY and answer the questions (remember you have information in your book on page 24-25).

1._ Who discovered Gravity?

2._ Is Gravity a contact or non contact force?

3._ Does the Earth pull or push?

4._Which are the three Newton´s conclusions?

5._ Does a boy have the same weight on the Earth and on the moon? Why?

6._ I want you to take a crayon and a notebook and let them fall at the same time. Which one falls first?
